CHOICES

“The strongest principle of growth lies in Human Choice.”
George Eliot

The freedom to choice lies on the liberty of an individual to  make intimate decisions free from government interference, discrimination and public intervention. WE always have to make a CHOICE.
CHOOSE!

Religion.

Freedom of Religion.  It is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual to manifest religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance. It is a concept that generally recognizes the freedom to change religion or NOT TO FOLLOW ANY RELIGION.

Liberty.

Under Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.

I choose to have No Religion because it is one of my fundamental rights.

I choose to be GAY because it is one of my rights and freedom without distinction of any kind.

SHOUT IT OUT!

Freedom is not merely the opportunity to do as one pleases; neither is it merely the opportunity to choose between set alternatives. Freedom is, first of all, the chance to formulate the available choices, to argue over them -- and then, the opportunity to choose.

Finally!

“A Human Being is part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty…. We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive.” Albert Einstein

According to Harville Hendrix, Ph.D., in his book Keeping the Love You Find, chemistry or infatuation is actually an attraction to a person who combines:

  • The worst traits of our parents or childhood care takers to infatuate us;
  • The negative traits that infatuate us and we possess but deny in ourselves;
  • The traits that we find infatuating but have been repressed in us by our upbringing;
  • The infatuating traits that society denies our gender.

Chinese New Year of 2010. Love is best seen on action, not on a spur of emotion. Love is not exclusively based on how we feel and perceived. Certainly our emotions are involved, but they cannot be our only criteria for love. True devotion will always lead to action --- true love.

 Time ticks!

As I end my entry, let me share a poem by William Morris :

Our hands have met, our lips have met
Our souls - who knows when the wind blows
How light souls drift mid longings set,
If thou forget'st, can I forget
The time that was not long ago?

Thou wert not silent then, but told
Sweet secrets dear - I drew so near
Thy shamefaced cheeks grown overbold,
That scarce thine eyes might I behold!
Ah was it then so long ago!

Trembled my lips and thou wouldst turn
But hadst no heart to draw apart,
Beneath my lips thy cheek did burn -
Yet no rebuke that I might learn;
Yea kind looks still, not long ago.

Wilt thou be glad upon the day
When unto me this love shall be
An idle fancy passed away,
And we shall meet and smile and say
'O wasted sighs of long ago!'

Wilt thou rejoice that thou hast set
Cold words, dull shows 'twixt hearts drawn close,
That cold at heart I live on yet,
Forgetting still that I forget
The priceless days of long ago?

The Other Side of ME

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. XOXO

Tigress Love

“Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each New year find you a better man. “ Benjamin Franklin

According to the 2010 Chinese horoscope and Chinese lunar calendar, the 2010 New Year coincides with the 14th of February - St. Valentine's Day. It is the Year of the Metal Tiger. It symbolizes toughness, generosity and wealth earned with hard work. 2010 year is a dutiful family oriented and dependable year. It is the year where you may not express your feelings in words but make it up by deeds.

Love will surely reign all throughout 2010. It will be everywhere; let us feel it with all the senses and get satisfied! So, look around and express your feelings!

I would like to share these to my readers...

A flower's fragrance declares to all the world that it is fertile,
available, and desirable, its sex organs oozing with nectar.
Its smell reminds us in vestigial ways of fertility, vigor, life-force,
all the optimism, expectancy, and passionate bloom of youth.
We inhale its ardent aroma and, no matter what our ages,
we feel young and nubile in a world aflame with desire.
-   Diane Ackerman,  A Natural History of the Senses, 1990, p. 13

 And for YOU....
"If apples were pears
And peaches were plums
And the rose had a different name.

If tigers were bears
And fingers were thumbs
I'd love you just the same"

Making A Difference

"We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give." Winston Churchill

Under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, children have rights as human beings and also need special care and protection. They are founded on respect for the dignity and worth of each individual, regardless of race, color, gender, language, religion, opinions, origins, wealth, birth status or ability and therefore apply to every human being everywhere.

Monday’s Headline (February 8, 2010) appalled Bangkok “Police invite lenders to talks as charity home debts mounts”. Based on reports, Khru Noi (Teacher Noi) of Baan Khru Noi Charity Home owed money to some 20 lenders and has to pay a hefty amount each day to pay off the principal and the ballooning interest. She, then, apologizes to donors as she uses the donations to pay the daily interest.

The news was not a surprise at all. With a couple of orphanage run by private individuals such as Khru Noi and foundations, such institutions require funding and manpower for them to operate. In the case of Baan Khru Noi, the children under hospice care include the disabled, homeless and those parents who are in jail. Khru Noi may not have any other option but to approach loan shark lenders to keep her hospice operational.

It is sad to think that business is business as usual. For lenders, Baan Khru Noi is just a client that opens business opportunity, regardless of its operation. For Khru Noi, lenders are savior.

I have the opportunity to visit an orphanage Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Pakkred Babies Home targets the abandoned children and those children in a troubled family environment.  I must say most orphanages here in Thailand are well maintained. What really concerns me  were the babies.  Aside from the funding that they needed, they need a human touch. It is not a matter of smiling to them but more of the body's warmth that matters most.

Making a difference is involvement. This scenario does happen everywhere, not only in Thailand. It is now that these babies need you MOST. They are on the stage of developing their emotional skills. JOIN.INVOLVE.CARE!

BUBBLES

"February will bring a set of spectacular aspects, ones that are so extraordinary that life may take on an entirely new direction. You'll emerge from February with more confidence and optimism, and you may even have a new love interest. With such an outstanding month on the way to you, it would be a shame not to use your cosmic gifts to the fullest. Take note of the days that are most special - these are almost as rare as emeralds!" Susan Miller

January 2010 was full of anxiety. There was a "reliving moment", agony and too many questions in mind. Thinking too much about something is panicky especially that I live alone here in Bangkok.

Now, February 2010, it is the start of a New Year. There was this shimmering vibration coming at exactly the right time on each moment. Surprisingly, I am not pragmatic but feeling more optimistic, content and happy. Glorious days are coming with wide-ranging ramifications not only for me but for my Dear Friends around. Upbeat developments are coming more and more each day. It is contagious and roars like a TIGER.

All in all, this will be one enormously satisfying month.
